Our mission is to promote the interest of children and youth aged between 5 and 19 in the development of sports practice, based on principles of ethics, competitive and social spirit, and the integral formation of the athletes, maintaining high standards of demand and quality, where human and sports development in young people is reconciled.

About us

CDEFF aims to occupy a position of great regional and national reference in the training of young people in various sports, at a high level of quality, enabling them to achieve higher performance levels, in order to keep up with the growth in the number of registered athletes and their values, as well as the goal of continuous improvement of the quality of services provided to current and future athletes. The core values include the importance of sports opportunities that all young people should have, coupled with the importance of providing all athletes with all the necessary conditions for physical exercise and sport, as well as the following principles: team spirit and mutual aid, the direct contribution to life training (based on the slogan “Sport forming for life”), promoting the academic success of athletes, and the values of sportsmanship, ethics, responsibility, friendship, respect, punctuality, discipline, commitment, dedication, fair play, and guaranteeing a healthy lifestyle.

CDEFF aims to be a benchmark

The Clube Desportivo da Escola Francisco Franco (CDEFF), is intended for the training of athletes in basketball, futsal and orienteering, having been founded on October 24, 2005. The Club is located at the Escola Secundária Francisco Franco, in the city of Funchal, whose main message is the union and formation of a school community directly related to sport, not only taking into account the competitive aspect, but above all the training aspect.
Currently, it has approximately 150 athletes registered in all levels of training between 5 and 19 years old, including a senior women's team featured in the I Women's Basketball League.
CDEFF seeks to create habits of occupation of young people's free time, through sport, as a complement to school activities, promoting well-being, health, compliance with rules and their social integration. Our main goal is to train and prepare athletes for the future, both on a sporting and personal level, always including the values of sport and life, justifying the growth in number of athletes who intend to be trained in our Club.

There’s nothing better than taking the time to have fun and make new friends! In our Easter and Summer ATL, we have activities that you will love, from nautical activities, trips to the beach and the movies, cooking, karaoke, interactive games and much more! Come and live a unique experience, develop new skills and meet new people who will probably become friends for life! We promise to guarantee maximum fun and happiness at all times!

In our Club, we have the solution to create unforgettable birthday parties for birthdays and guests, with the possibility of carrying out various recreational and sports activities in the school’s indoor gymnasium. Come and have fun with us!

Birthday Organization

Recently, the Club joined the Orienteering modality – ORIFF, with prof. Alexandra Fonseca in charge of this department.
As the name implies, orienteering is a sport where, in addition to the athlete having to complete a course in the best possible time, you should orient yourself only with the help of a map and a compass.
This modality, in addition to contributing to the improvement of physical and motor skills: cardio, endurance, respiratory capacity, muscle work and proprioception, of young people and other practicing athletes (of the most varied age groups, from an early age to where the physical condition allows), it contributes to the development of mental and intellectual capacities such as: reflection, deduction, logic, discovery and sense of direction. Thus increasing self-confidence, socialization, physical and mental well-being, also enjoying the surroundings with the environment and nature.

Muay Thai offers a unique and stimulating experience for martial arts enthusiasts and those looking for a challenging sport. Under the guidance of qualified instructors, participants have the opportunity to learn authentic Muay Thai techniques, as well as develop skills such as discipline, concentration, and self-control.

Zumba
